Wang Yiquan, born in 1987 in Beijing, is an artist currently based in Shanghai. He graduated from Beijing International Studies University with a BA in Journalism(2010) and then studied MA Narrative Environments at Central Saint Martins in London(2012). His artistic practice combines complexity and diversity, concentrating in performance, object and text, three independent yet correlative fields. His recent exhibitions include MoCA Pavilion(Museum of Contemporary Art, Shanghai, 2015), No Apple No Show(V Art Center, 2015), Moving in Time B3+Beijing(CAFA Art Museum, 2015), the 2nd CAFAM Future Exhibition(CAFA Art Museum, 2015), Closing Ceremony(Basement 6 Collective, 2014), and The Performance Night(am art space Shanghai, 2013). In addition to his art creation, Wang also writes intensively about art, whose essays and reviews have been published in BLOUIN ARTINFO, Artforum Chinese edition, Art Times, Global Times, and Christie’s Magazine among other publications. He now is a senior editor of Shanghai’s Art World Magazine.
